butt he fact remains we are unable to render things the FULL distance at any angle.
this means that "proper" view distance is not in fact the full range of the weapon.

forge gunners are SUPPOSED to be invisable

forge gunners are SUPPOSED to be invisable Any truth to this? Not sure, but you can see tanks further away than you can infantry so it doesn't contradict reality. Of course a lightening spewing charged FG should be visible from quite a distance due to active emissions.
they removed the blue flashlight needed to see the forge gunners months ago upon uprising release.... |

its just that they willingly desided that it was worth creating that problem in order to improve other areas, like making the lighting pretty, and having grass grow at your feet.
they traded gameplay for something that looks mroe like a finished product rather than focusing on gameplay wich would have made it a finished product.
the idea is that limiting view distance is and acceptable and well know method in FPS games to limit the lag issues.
the reality is that this is always done in ways that dont interfear with gameplay so that the players dont notice in the heat of battle (and therefore not ruining the immersion that they always strive to create)
things like the fog on the edge of your screen that you see int he distance when things are to far for you to see wit your eyes.
or individual effects like not rendering the insides of buildings and complexes while your not in them, not rendering things that are outside of LOS
its things like this that really expose jsut how new they are to the FPS genre and how very very different the priorities are in an FPS compaired to games like EvE Online

the sad part is that 1.5 is completly pointless. the rendering problem imbalances vehicles to such an extreme that it doesnt matter what you do to the numbers or any other mechanic, vehicles will always be obsolete due to their blindness and how easy it is to exploit as a weakness. if you think of the rendering as a game feature rather than a bug (because thats essentially waht it is due to it being purposly traded for other mechanics) then you have to balance around vehicles being virtually blind, a 600m railgun is in reality a 300m railgun (400 at the best of times, and 50m at the worst of times) you HAVE to balance around forge funs and swarms being INVISABLE to the tanks (becuase any AV person worth his weight knows about the problem and will seek to exploit the weakness of the vehicles blindness to their advantage) the reality is that the disadvatage of the vehicle blindness will always outweigh any attempt to "rebalance" vehicles so get ready to be disapointed once again with 1.5 i shall call it "the patch that added nothing"
yeah... ive lost many tanks due to invisible railguns and AV players. Correct on about half the maps.... unaceptable |

Sence chrome ended :( I speced out of vehicles and haven't payed a lot of attention to FGs on foot as a Logi. I figured the light show was a good trade off for having a greater punch than a rail turret.
lol nope. Theres a reason you could see over your heavys shoulder without being blinded; theres nothing to blind you |

thats not fair? snipers are supposed to stay hidden because they are subtle and weaklings. Heavys should not be subtle and are not weaklings |
